Conversation Series – Adrian Lyles
Adrian Lyles is the founder of The P.U.L.L. Movement (People United in Life & Liberty). P.U.L.L. is a nonprofit organization that seeks to educate on the history of race and the deleterious effects this construct has caused in our society. By doing so, the organization hopes to empower people to be more than they were told, and encouraged to be the best version of themselves. Along with several other talented people, Mr. Lyles has utilized various platforms to share the emboldening message that each person has a purpose in life, and this is not to be reduced to the irrelevant spectrum of their skin color or physical appearances.
Adrian is an entrepreneur who owns an investment advisory firm among other ventures. He has a passion and a deep belief that financial literacy is the key to upward mobility in America. Lyles promotes that everyone needs to be informed how the financial system operates, and the longer we focus on proclaiming that skin variations is the primary issue, people will continue to suffer from poverty and other matters related to financial illiteracy.
Family and faith are at the center of Adrian’s motivating inspiration. He has a wife whose skin color is noticeably different than his own. Ensuring that his children understood that they were loved before they were formed in the womb, has been a propulsion for his daily mission. Teaching his children to reject the classifications and labels cast by society is led by his faith. Having the belief that all mankind are created in the image of God, forms his view that we are all rather beautiful, colorful, humans.
