Greetings! I’m pleased to introduce my next guest on The Contraband Wagon, José-Luis Pino. Jose has been a long-time mutual of mine on Twitter. He recently joined the Contrabandits (https://www.patreon.com/thecontrabandwagon) in supporting my creation of conversations on race and live antiracism events, so I thought it was a great time to invite him for a 1-on-1 conversation about his own personal evolution of race consciousness. Like many before him, José’s initial response to my invitation in addition to agreeing to appear was to suggest that he might not have anything valuable to add. I don’t believe anything could be further from the truth. I believe all of us who exist in a racialized environment have a lot to add to the conversation regardless of how we are racialized.
